28 Jan How to keep paper flowers clean
Today I will discuss how to put your paper flowers up and how to keep them clean. These are the two most common questions I receive from buyers.
We build each flower with a ribbon loop at the back to enable you the pin it onto a curtain, staple it to a wooden board and hang it from small nails. This is usually the preferred option when using paper flowers for a function.
I suggest that clients use double sided velcro to put it up on walls. Its like double sided tape, but with velcro between the sticky outside. You then place a good size velcro onto the back of the flower. Once you have decided where to place it on the wall just peel the paper off and press the flower to the wall. Use your fingers to find a spot through the petals where you can put some pressure from the front to the back to adhere the double sided tape well to the wall.
So now you have installed the set of paper flowers on the wall. How do you keep them clean? Damp cloths and water are the enemy! You can wiggle the flower off from the wall by splitting the velcro and then use your hairdryer to blow the dust off. Put the flower back onto the velcro against the wall again. Alternatively you can keep them on the wall, just blow the dust off with a cool hairdryer. I have also used a small brush with soft bristles, but this should be done with patience and care.
If you have paper flowers on the wall and have other suggestions, please feel free to comment on this post. We would also love to hear from clients on how long they have their paper flowers up.
